Implementing partner: HA’concerts

Ha’concerts is a concert venue in Ghent, Belgium. It specializes in jazz, pop/folk and the occasional rock concert. It has a specific focus on music for young audiences and children. 

As the coordinating partner for the Play Ground project, Ha’concerts works together with different partners that cater musical workshops and classes for children and teenagers in more disfavored neighborhoods. The aim of these workshops is for children to discover their talents, favor social integration through music and build bridges with the regular offer of workshops and classes in music schools and broader arts education. 

During the project, musical workshops are organized in the Rabot neighborhood, one of the most disfavored and multicultural neighborhoods in Gent. The workshops are organized in collaboration with Kopergietery, a youth theater organization, and the local elementary school “Mandala” as well as with local community workers, which are strongly connected to the neighborhood and are very involved in the recruitment procedure for the children. 

Different artists and musicians will lead the workshops, culminating is annual showcases.
